Dr. Mohammad Shorfuzzaman, SMIEEE, received his B.Sc. in Computer Science and Engineering from BUET in 2001. He completed his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Computer Science from University of Manitoba, Canada in 2005 and 2012 respectively. He is currently a Professor of Advanced Computing in the department of Software Engineering, College of Engineering, at Alfaisal University (Riyadh). Past roles include Taif University (Professor, Computer Science 2013-2025), Saudi Arabia, Kwantlen Polytechnic University, Canada (2012-2013), the University of Manitoba (Canada), and IBM T.J. Watson (Canada). His research lies at the intersection of AI, healthcare, security, and large-scale data systems, developing intelligent and trustworthy solutions that advance medical applications, safeguard sensitive data, and enable scalable, data-driven innovation. Recognized among the Stanford–Elsevier global top 2% scientists (2022–2024), He is an IEEE Senior Member and holds CEH and Security+ certifications. Specifically, his work spans explainable deep learning for medical imaging, cyber-physical health systems, privacy-preserving/federated learning, blockchain-enabled security, and IoT—aimed at reliable, interpretable, and secure AI. Dr. Shorfuzzaman authored 100+ publications (90 ISI-indexed; 25 Q1) with 3,813+ citations and an h-index of 34, and led >1M SAR in funded projects. He holds one US patent and one German patent application. He also serves as a Guest Editor for special issues on AI in Healthcare/IoMT with reputable journals, including IEEE Transactions on Consumer Electronics and Computer Systems Science & Engineering. He has contributed to ABET/NCAAA accreditation and program development. Open to research collaborations, graduate supervision, and industry partnerships in clinical AI, secure data analytics, and intelligent systems.
