I am a professor, known internationally in the areas of Operations Management and Strategy. I have taught in the UK, Europe and North America. Fortunately student feedback has always been very positive -and I have teaching awards in each territory - but I never take this for granted nor do I see this as a puerile contest against colleagues.
I continue to publish in top journals (over 100 journal papers and 10 books) and I was Editor in Chief of the International Journal of Operations & Production Management, which is in the top 3 in the world for its subject and I led its transformation from a 3 to a 4 rated journal in ABS listings. I remain an Associate Editor for IJOPM and I am on the Advisory Board for Technovation. I have been an external examiner at various Universities within the UK, including Surrey, Bath, Cardiff, and Warwick. I am an honorary professor at Sussex Business School, University of Sussex.
I have supervised 22 PhD students to successful completion of their PhDs and I have been an external PhD examiner on 12 occasions. My management experience was gained in both Public and Private Sectors including large and SME organisations. I have been involved in consulting in a range of organisations in manufacturing and service sectors including government level engagements.
